{"id":141,"date":"2026-03-17T18:39:30","date_gmt":"2026-03-17T17:39:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/baumcontrol.es\/?post_type=proyecto&#038;p=141"},"modified":"2026-04-01T11:06:54","modified_gmt":"2026-04-01T09:06:54","slug":"estaciones-ferroviarias-adif","status":"publish","type":"proyecto","link":"https:\/\/baumcontrol.es\/en\/proyecto\/estaciones-ferroviarias-adif\/","title":{"rendered":"Railway Stations (ADIF)"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Railway stations (ADIF) of Cambrils, Hospitalet, Salou, Ar\u00e9valo, Oropesa, Illescas, Parla Norte and Joaquin Sorolla among others.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The&nbsp;<strong>automation of ADIF railway stations<\/strong>&nbsp;from the point of view of the&nbsp;<strong>building facilities and platform lighting<\/strong>&nbsp;It is based on the implementation of systems of&nbsp;<strong>centralized technical management (BMS \u2013 Building Management System)<\/strong>&nbsp;that allow automatic control of the operation of the station&#039;s various services. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">From the centralized control station, the mechanical installations, air conditioning equipment, and lighting systems are monitored.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among them, one of the most important is the&nbsp;<strong>platform lighting system<\/strong>, which guarantees security, visibility, and energy efficiency in an infrastructure that operates virtually continuously. We will focus on these systems and explain how they work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Station control system architecture<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The automation of a railway station is structured in three technological levels:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">1. Field level (sensors and actuators)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Numerous devices are installed on the platforms and in public areas that allow you to know the status of the station in real time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among them:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>outdoor light sensors<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>presence or motion sensors<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>platform occupancy detectors<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>astronomical clocks<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>electricity consumption meters<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>luminaire failure detectors<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>weather sensors<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These sensors send information to the control systems to automatically adjust the lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">2. Level of control (automatons and controllers)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The automation logic is executed by:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>programmable controllers<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Industrial PLCs<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>DALI or KNX lighting controllers<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>electrical panel controllers<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These teams manage:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>turning lights on and off<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>lighting level regulation<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>activation by schedule<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>activation by presence<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>emergency lighting management.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3. Level of supervision (SCADA \/ BMS)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">All the station&#039;s systems are integrated into a centralized platform that allows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>view the lighting status<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>detect faults<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>manually control the facilities<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>analyze energy consumption.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The control center can monitor&nbsp;<strong>multiple stations simultaneously<\/strong>, which facilitates maintenance and energy management.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Automation of platform lighting<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Platform lighting is one of the most critical elements from a railway safety point of view.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The systems installed in ADIF stations ensure:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>minimum lighting levels for safety<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>visibility for travelers<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>energy efficiency.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Types of luminaires<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Currently, most stations use&nbsp;<strong>high-efficiency LED luminaires<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These light fixtures offer:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul poles<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>metal structures of the platform<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>roofs of covered stations.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Automatic control by astronomical schedule<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the most widely used methods is control by means of&nbsp;<strong>astronomical clock<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system automatically calculates:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>dawn<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>nightfall<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Based on this data, the system activates or deactivates the lighting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This method allows:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>adapt the ignition to the seasons of the year<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>avoid unnecessary operation.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Control via light sensors<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the astronomical clock, the following are installed:&nbsp;<strong>photocells or external light sensors<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These sensors detect:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>changes in ambient luminosity<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>meteorological conditions<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>cloudy days or storms.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">When the level of natural light drops below a certain threshold, the system automatically activates the platform control<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The system can work at different levels:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>normal mode<\/strong>&nbsp;(daily operation)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>low power mode<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>maximum illumination mode<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For example:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>During off-peak hours, the intensity is reduced<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>When a train arrives, the platform lighting increases.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This regulation is carried out using digital control protocols such as:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>DALI<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>KNX<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>proprietary control systems.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Integration with the railway operation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In some stations, platform lighting is integrated with railway systems to improve safety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">For
